This project’s focus was to improve safety and mobility at the intersection of US 78 and SR 124 in the City of Snellville. Two double displaced left turn lanes were constructed on US 78 to route vehicles turning onto Northbound and Southbound SR 124 away from the 78 Eastbound and Westbound through lanes. A continuous flow lane was constructed on SR 124 North to aid the traffic flow onto US 78 westbound. All turn lanes on SR 124 South were relocated to Henry Clower Boulevard as well as the right turn on US 78 East. A signal bridge was constructed to improve visibility. The project has reduced congestion in all directions and improved the flow of traffic during peak hours. Additional wayfinding signage is being proposed.
