Park Place Mixed-Use Center Study
Project Name: Park Place Mixed-Use Center Study
Start Date: March 2007
Completed Date: 2011
Summary:

The objective of this study was to create a specific plan for the Stone Mountain Tennis Center that resulted in an economically viable mixed-use and special events center that would serve as a focal point of transit service as well as a catalyst for new growth.

The study proposed the construction of a Park Place Activity Center and a ten-foot-wide multi-use trail that connected the activity center to the Main Gate entrance of Stone Mountain Park. The 1.0 mile in length trail would run along the south side of US 78 from West Park Place Boulevard and would include pedestrian lighting, benches, and trash receptacles. The proposed trail falls within the Atlanta Regional Commission’s LCI Park Place Area.
